Common Questions
Are you part of the VA?
No. We’re an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit that collaborates with counselors and leverages VA/community options whenever possible. EIN: 93-2093554.
What is “medication therapy bridging”?
Short-term, clinically guided assistance to prevent lapses in essential therapy while long-term coverage is arranged.
Who qualifies for help?
U.S. veterans with a documented clinical need and a coverage gap (delay, prior-auth, formulary issue, transition between settings). We verify basics and align with the veteran’s provider/counselor.
Do you give medical advice?
No. We are not a medical practice and do not offer medical or crisis advice. We coordinate access and continuity in partnership with clinicians. For emergencies, call the Veterans Crisis Line: 1-800-273-8255 (Press 1) or 911.
What does it cost?
There is no fee to request or receive assistance, we are a donor backed organization. When donor funds are used to bridge a prescription, that support is provided without expectation of repayment.
How fast can you help?
Timelines vary by documentation and pharmacy/coverage steps. We prioritize urgent, safety-critical needs and communicate realistic timelines.
Do you provide any travel assistance?
Yes, if someone needs a ride to an appointment for a medication infusion we can provide assistance.
What medications do you bridge?
We focus on clinically necessary therapies (e.g., cardiac, respiratory, diabetes, mental-health-related medications coordinated with providers), subject to safety review and donor-policy guidelines.
How do counselors work with you?
Counselors submit a referral with clinical context. We confirm need, outline the bridge plan, and close the loop with updates.
How do donations get used?
Primarily to fund short-term medication bridges and the coordination work that turns a temporary fix into durable coverage. We share aggregate impact via newsletters and annual summaries.
Is my information private?
Yes. We handle information responsibly, share only what’s necessary with your care team, and comply with applicable privacy standards for the services we provide.
Do you handle mental-health crises?
No. In crisis, call 1-800-273-8255 (Press 1) or 911.
